FCWA have been working in conjunction with Lancashire Constabulary and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals to provide an enhanced and tailored response to victims of domestic abuse during Covid-19.
Operation Provide aims to:
- Proactively seek to identify and interact with historic, and present high-risk victims of domestic abuse.
- Increase the service level provisions to victims of domestic abuse to increase the effectiveness of DA responses, thereby maximising the likelihood of preventing future abuse.
FCWA workers have been providing support to victims who have been identified via the police. Including attending reports of domestic violence and abuse or revisits with police officers to ensure that the victim receives early access to IDVA support. As a result of the fantastic work that has been completed the initiative has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award and has been featured on BBC's Crimewatch Roadshow on the 07.09.2020
